Brine Lax Wall- buyer beware...for now

Do you have a Brine Lax Wall in your yard,  just over a year old that is already ripped and shredded?
You are not alone.
A lot of people are talking about it and they are not happy.
I gave a call to the Warrior owned Brine headquarters
( actually both owned by New Balance) today to see what's up.

Apparently you sillies should not leave it outdoors...
Hmmm, ok
That's right, it should be brought indoors when not in use to protect it from the elements.

Gee, it's kinda heavy.
Well, alright- at least there is a warranty
Oops. Just for one year though.

Cale, a nice guy from customer service, assured me that Brine is aware of the problem and that there will now be a replacement wall that you can attach to your existing frame.
But it won't be available until June, possibly later.

So beware or be aware that if you buy the Brine Lax Wall, count on dragging it in and out of the garage or shed after EVERY use or you could end up with a shredded wall before the season is even over!

That sucks I'm sure somewhere in the fine print it mentioned that. Have you tried duct tape?

They should sell a cover for it!!!

Whew..we don't have one of those (probably because S3 hasn't seen one yet or he would be clamoring for one). We do have a very large goal in our yard though :)

Don't have one, but that's just not right.

I have bought 2 of these and within a few short months the wall is ripped and shredded. I can't even find a contact number to call and complain. After the first one shredded I had my son drag the wall in and out of the garage to keep it out of the sun and rain. It still shredded. This product is defective. How can I get in touch with Brine?

Anon, I feel your pain! You can call customer service at the brine headquarters. Go to the Brine site and you will find it under contact us.
Good Luck.
For the record we decided to purchase a Stx lax wall.
I would have stayed with Brine if they had replaced the wall, now they have lost me as a customer...forever.

I have told everyone I know to boycott this product until they bring it up to standard.
How is my 110 lb daughter suppose to drag that in and out of the garage to protect it from the elements? Our first one was shredded in 6 months and we thought it must have been something we did or that the wall was defective, so we bought another. The same thing happened.
I am done with Brine for now.

In the competitive LAX equipment market, I just don't understand how Brine thinks that they can get away with this. I would encourage everyone to contact Brine customer service to complain. The more they hear from their frustrated customers the more likely they will be to respond with a solution.

Now I understand the phrase, "a warrior free zone!"

Add me to the list of disappointed Laxwall owners who will not buy from Brine in the future. I spent about 2 hours duct-taping a tear in my Laxwall a week ago, only to have it disintegrate the first time my son put a ball on it with any force at all. The idea that owners should drag such a device in and out of the garage is simply absurd. Brine sold a defective product -- they need to step up and address the issue instead of engaging in "blame the customer."

I just bought a LaxPrax trainer instead. Costs just $20 and attaches to your stick. Works great, just undo the Velcro and put it in storage bag when done. Way better than a lax wall.

I just took the shredded one off the frame and found this site while looking for a replacement. It is unfathomable why the designers did not specify a material that could stand up to UV. Talk about being asleep - I hope Brine has the good sense to fire the design engineers before they do something else equally ignorant.

This doesn't make sense to me because the ones at school stay out all season and they look perfect. I bought one for the kids and after a few weeks it looked like it had a few years of use. Warrior (Brine)sent me a new wall to the house... frame and all.

Me too. Had the thing for less than a year and it disintegrated. Does anyone know if the promised June replacement is available, and works?

Hey Anon, Thanks for commenting!
I've heard that it is available, but almost IMPOSSIBLE to attach! Was told that it is almost worth it to buy a new wall rather than try to get the replacement on the frame!!!!
Funny, no one complains about the black colored wall, just the light blue...

Have a Warrior version (different dimensions) with the same problem. Called Warrior (also owned by New Balance) and they said they discontinued it after a couple years and don't carry replacement parts. They recommended buying a new one from Brine!

Just ripped mine 15 minutes ago. A little over a year old and used frequently. Way too heavy for me to bring in. I just pass on it too. It's not like I'm ripping them and taking shots either. I just got on line to look for replacements. This thing is way too heavy for me to be dragging it in and out of the shed every time I want to use it! I use it all winter too. seems to me like something like this should be weather proof, wouldn't you think?

Wow. I feel like a dope. I wish I had found this site 2 years ago - BEFORE I bought the light blue Brine swiss cheese. I found your site when looking for a replacement, just like one of the Anons on here. So, has Brine introduced an appropriate replacement? Has anyone been able to recoop their investment from Brine? Or at least gotten a replacement?
