Recital Requiem

My post title is a bit harsh.
But, because I was just a vendor all week at a dance school's rehearsals and recital... I can honestly say that I am dead tired AND I had completely forgotten how time consuming and intense recitals are for all involved.

I am not saying this is a bad thing. My daughter was in a dance company for a few years and loved it.
But, it was all dance all of the time.
Recital is the culmination of all that.

You have dancers and moms that love it and are obsessed
You just hope that those type moms and those type dancers are in the same family!
I have witnessed a happy dancer in five numbers happily at rehearsal for hours on end and her mother looking like a detainee at a prison camp.
I have also seen the typical stage mom coaxing and bribing her daughter to just stay a little long as the daughter threatens to leave "if it doesn't end soon!"

So, recital is over now and on to Lacrosse tournaments.
And trust me, you see the same thing there :)

I hope it was a success. I guess kids will be kids no matter the setting. Have a wonderful Sunday.

Hi Patty, I hope your vending was a success this week. You must be wiped out. Thanks for the nice comment. I really do love it when I'm down here. The worst part is on Sundays, packing up to leave. Then when I get home, I have to go food shopping. Yuk!
I love the picture of the ballet dancers, it is beautiful. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!
XOXO

Ohhhh, I always wanted to be a ballerina. Being a dork, it never worked out.

Our lacrosse here is over and strangely enough, I miss it. It is such a great social outlet for ME :) (yes, it IS all about me after all;)

I think it's that way in any activity that you find kids and their parents. I think Little League was the worst. Every parent thought their child was going to be the next pitching superstar. :) Rest and have a good week.

This is great Miss Preppy, as someone who danced for years and figure skated for even more, we have *seen* the Moms who can't let go, living through their child. It must be exhausting to be around, at least we're guessing it could be after a few days.

Hope your week ahead is grand!
