Thanks Father Charlie!

I was at a meeting at Church and our priest, Father Charlie, quoted a saying that wasn't religious but really resonated with me and I would like to share it.

"To deny a compliment is to seek it twice."

Example:

Friend- "Patty, I LOVE your curly hair!"

Me- " Oh, are you kidding? it is horrible!"

Friend- "No, really. It makes you look so young!"

The right thing to say when complimented?
 "Thank you."

Agreed. As an adult I teach my children to respond to a compliment with "thank you" when I often hedge and stutter and yes, ask for it twice. I think this is a lovely way to say it, thank you!
