I found some that worked, wrote the post and that was that.
I thought.
But no. Today I received the most gracious comment on that post that I would like to share with you,
Shelby has left a new comment on your post "Italian Cookies= I have a problem <http://preppyplayer.blogspot.com/2009/11/italian-cookies
"I am really disappointed that you stole my cookie photo from my blog. I have a copyright on my blog that states you are to not use my photos or content without my permission. Please remove the cookie photo or at least give the credit to the photo to me and link back to my blog. "
Wow. Never been to her blog. Checked it out and it seems nice. But she doesn't seem so nice.
I think she should contact google images though as they didn't credit her, if they had I might have as well.
I will be taking her image off my blog and I certainly will NOT link to her.
I didn't mean to "steal" her image of italian cookies, do you think Google did?

I just went to her blog - did you catch the name? Grumpy something. Speaks volumes. I would understand her being upset if you were selling her image as your own. But you were not selling a darn thing. I'm sorry but you cannot copy right things from public blogs the way she thinks you can. If Google can use it, you can too.
Thanks Preppy Pink, my sentiments exactly. Honestly, if she had been more gracious and polite I would have linked and credited her- but now I don't want anyone to think I am associated with her!
Wow Unbelievable really It's different if you are saying it's your pictures. I used Google images all the time! I would care less if someone used my cookie picture! WOW! They do look yummy!
Actually Shelby is a wonderfully sweet lady. I didn't think her comment to you sounded rude at all. If you removed her photo because you didn't want to link to her after her email to you, fine... But is the mudslinging and rude language you're now displaying necessary?
I agree with the others. She is a very sweet person and would go out of her way to help people. People put so much work into their blogs, it is understandable that they get concerned, and yes, upset-that their pictures are used without consent. I think she did ask nicely to take it down or link back. Bloggers are suppose to be caring community-this makes us all look bad. And Pink? The name refers to an inside joke with her hubby, not herself.
Shelby is one of the nicest people I know in the blogging world. She always leaves nice comments and is always upbeat and positive. She is not Grumpy..that is her hubbys nickname(all in fun)..
Im sure she means well..
It seems you are not only a thief but also a complete fool. What you did is called copyright infringement. Now what you are doing is called whining.
Photograph your own damn cookies scum.
Google Images is a service that indexes pictures. It doesn't give you permission to use them without permission or attribution.
That said, many bloggers (and other websites) are willing to let that stuff go if you do them the courtesy of attributing the image to them and include a link to their site. I believe that's all Shelby was asking you to do.
Wow Shelby you have some classy blog friends!! climbhighak wow nice words!
First off Shelby- accusing someone of stealing is not nice. You deleted it, BUT you knew I would see it.
Trust me, I have no interest in taking credit for your pics AND if you were a reader of my blog you would know that NONE of my readers assumed I baked the cookies.
That said, I appreciate the time put into baking, photographing, and marketing your blog/cookies- I do not appreciate harassment by your readers. It does reinforce my opinion of you.
I have removed your pic, now leave me alone.
Jo- mudslinging? rude language? calling out Shelby for being rude is allowed. I am not a foodie blog or a baker it is obvious I have not benefited from the pic.
I was innocently illustrating a post.
Tamilynn- you sound like a nice person, but I assure you- be accused of stealing or of trying to hoodwink my friends and readers into thinking that I would be capable of baking or photographing the cookies... well Shelby does seem too nice to me.
Flourchild, I appreciate you not going overboard with this. Like I said innocently used image will NOT again.
Climbhighak- Merry Christmas to you too :)
Tracy- Let's put it this way, if I felt like I was benefiting from the image or selling something because of the image I would feel guilty. I do not have a "for profit" blog so I don't feel as though I am stealing Shelby's thunder or profits.
however, I did take down the image.
Frau, I love you :)
This discussion is now over. I will not be entertaining any new comments. image removed.
This gal needs to get a grip. You clearly stated in your post that the images were from Google and not yours. I wouldn't worry a bit more over this.
